I learned that you can make a social impact by making art for what you believe in. Not all artwork needs to be in the white cube of museums and galleries; art being on brick walls, in conversations, at your favorite cafe or park is sometimes the best place it can exist.
There are hundreds of organizations that provide opportunities for artists to create socially impactful work. I’ve listed some here for artist to use.
Opportunities include: exhibitions (group, solo, and/or juried), residencies, and competitions.
